Raven Guard 30th Anniversary Marine

I haven't posted anything in over a year! Haha! I suck at this. Anyway, on to the good stuff. Oh, and I'm currently working on finishing up Drenn Redblade from the Deathwatch: Overkill set and a skitarii Tech-Priest Dominus.
Games Workshop recently released the 30th Anniversary Space Marine model (Space Marine anniversary, not GW's anniversary). Seeing as I originally got into the WH40K universe around that time, I felt it was a model I had to have. Also, it's just more plasti-crack for my addiction. Plus, it went well with my Rogue Trader framed canvas I just got in the mail from https://warhammerart.com.

My hobby corner. Cluttered. I know.
So, without further ado, I present my first completed Raven Guard model.

Yep. Shiny green base.
Felt he should wear a command insignia.
I found I really enjoy painting leather. Even small bits of it.
Probably should have painted his soles metallic. Oh well.
As for the other parts of this blog, I'm currently listening to Perturbator's newest album- "The Uncanny Valley".

While it's not technically metal (it's "synthwave"?), it is dark and sinister and makes me think of all the 80's sci-fi and horror films I grew up watching. It's like Doctor Mindbender created a different kind of "Serpentor". One made from the DNA of Jack Burton, Snake Plissken, Alex Murphy, Rick Deckard, Roy Batty, Tetsuo Shima and Shotaro Kaneda. In other words, one hell of an album!! Actually, all of his albums are phenomenal. Check it out here https://perturbator.bandcamp.com. Buy it, listen to it a lot, just don't go shooting androids or anything afterwards. They're people too, you know.
And finally, I live in the desert and it's dry. Really dry. So, I'm staying hydrated and drinking everyone's favorite brew: H2O. Yep, no beer tonight. Definitely on the next post though, which hopefully won't take me another freaking year. As always, question, comments, criticisms are all welcome. Thanks for reading!! Drink up, paint well, and listen to metal (or synthwave)!
